Services we use

Business listings

LoveLeigh lists local shops, venues and services so people in Leigh can find them. Listings come from information businesses have already made public: Google Maps (name, address, phone, website, opening hours, photos and rating), the Food Standards Agency hygiene register, and the business's own website and social media. We list businesses under our legitimate interest in running a local directory.

If it's your business, you can claim the page free and change it yourself. If anything is wrong, or you would rather not be listed, tap Correct or remove this listing at the bottom of the page in the app, or email jamesmwscrace@gmail.com. We act on removal requests within 7 days, and a removed listing isn't added back by our weekly update.

We may email a limited company at its published business address to tell it about its free page; every email says who we are and has an unsubscribe link. We don't send these emails to sole traders or partnerships.

Cookies and partner links

Some links in LoveLeigh go to partners, such as ticket, travel, booking and days-out sites. If you book through one of these links, the partner may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it helps keep LoveLeigh free.

On our website, lovelocalapp.co.uk, we only set partner tracking cookies (from our affiliate networks, for example impact.com) if you tap Accept on the cookie banner. They record that you came from LoveLeigh so a booking can be credited to us. If you tap No thanks, none are set. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of the page. The partner's own site and privacy policy apply once you leave LoveLeigh.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you closing it. Reports are kept for up to 2 years for safety reasons. Server backups roll over within 7 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email jamesmwscrace@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Under-13s cannot create an account; a parent or carer adds them and makes bookings for them. 13 to 17-year-olds get a separate experience with high-privacy settings by default: no public profile, no messaging, no meeting other members, and only activities run by vetted organisations. We follow the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app first.
