Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and JSA Group Ltd (company address 55 Rectory Grove, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 2HA), which runs LoveLeigh. By using LoveLeigh you agree to them.
Who can use LoveLeigh
Anyone can browse LoveLeigh. You must be 18 or over to create an account, and you must give your real date of birth.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. One person, one account.
Meeting people safely
LoveLeigh helps people meet in real life. We do not run background checks on members and cannot guarantee anyone's identity or behaviour. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you are going, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable. If you are in danger, call 999.
What you must not do
- Harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone.
- Post anything illegal, sexual, violent or hateful.
- Post fake events, or events at venues you have no connection with, without saying so.
- Pretend to be someone else, or run fake accounts or listings.
- Use LoveLeigh to sell, spam or advertise without a business listing.
- Scrape, copy or interfere with the service.
We can remove content, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and pass information to the police where the law requires or someone is at risk.
Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post, including the copyright in your photos. You give us a free, non-exclusive permission to show it in LoveLeigh so the service works.
Photos you share
When you share a photo (for example in Leigh in pictures, the makers' wall or a group):
- You confirm you took it yourself, or have the photographer's permission to share it, and that sharing it does not break anyone else's rights.
- The photo stays yours. Whoever posts a photo is responsible for it; LoveLeigh does not own it.
- You let us show it in the app with your first name, and share it on LoveLeigh's website and social media pages with credit to you. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- Don't post close-ups of other people without their permission, or anything showing children who aren't yours.
- You can delete your photo at any time. If you think a photo uses your work or shows you without permission, use Report on it or email us and we will take it down while we look into it.
Jobs
Job profiles and applying for jobs are for people aged 16 and over. Keep your job profile accurate and only upload your own CV. Businesses that post jobs or browse job seekers must be hiring for themselves (not recruitment agencies), must follow employment law, including the rules on young workers' hours, and must only use job seekers' details to recruit for their own jobs. Don't contact job seekers outside LoveLeigh unless they give you their details. We can remove jobs, profiles or access to job seekers that break these rules.
Recommendations
Recommendations is for asking the town who they'd recommend, and for members aged 18 and over. Keep it honest and positive: recommend businesses and people you've actually used and rate, and don't post complaints about a business here. No fake or paid-for recommendations. A business owner can answer, and their answers are labelled "Business". When you tag a business, it may be told it was recommended. We can remove any question or answer that breaks these rules, and anyone can report one.
Free stuff
Free stuff is for giving things away for free, never for selling, and is for members aged 18 and over. Listings go up straight away; we take down anything that breaks these rules.
- You can't give away medicines, weapons or knives, alcohol, tobacco or vapes, animals, or anything illegal, unsafe or recalled.
- Only list things that are yours to give, and describe them honestly, including any faults.
- We show a rough area on the map, never your address. Share your address only when you have agreed a collection, and only if you are happy to.
- Meet in daylight or somewhere public where you can, and tell someone where you are going. Collections are at your own risk: we are not part of any arrangement between members.
- Use Report on a listing or a message that isn't right.
Businesses
Only the owner or an authorised manager may claim a listing. Classes, events and offers you post must be accurate, and you are responsible for honouring bookings and offers. Bookings are a contract between you and the customer. A booking request sent through LoveLeigh passes the customer's details to the business so it can reply to them directly; it is not a confirmed booking until the business agrees it with the customer.
Listings from others
Venue details come from Google and events from Ticketmaster. We show them in good faith but cannot guarantee they are accurate. Tickets bought through Ticketmaster are sold under Ticketmaster's terms.
Our responsibility
We provide LoveLeigh "as is". We are not responsible for what members, businesses or event organisers do, or for loss arising from meetups or activities, except where the law says we cannot exclude it (for example death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).
Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing jamesmwscrace@gmail.com.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
